Shay Mitchell is an actressmodeland businesswoman from Canada. Her most famous role was that of Emily Fields from the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. After achieving great results in dance and modelling, she wanted to try acting and began taking acting classes in Toronto. After landing a couple of advertisements and guest appearances in television seriesMitchell received her biggest break when she was commissioned to play the role of Emily Fields in Pretty Little Liars. The critics and the fans alike were impressed with her performance. The actress starred in the The psychological thriller 'You', which earned more attention. Alongside performing, she also dabbled in writing. Along with Michaela Blaney she wrote an adult novel titled Bliss. Shay Mitchell was born on the 10th of April, 1987 and grew up in Ontario, Canada to parents Mark Mitchell and Precious Garcia. Her mother is a Filipina is her maternal grandmother. While her father is Irish and Scottish. Mitchell is also a cousin to Lea Salonga, a famed musician and musical theater actor. As a child, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary before transferring to the West Vancouver Secondary School. She had already modeled around the world in her early teens. She travelled to Barcelona Bangkok Hong Kong before eventually returning to her home country and studying acting in Toronto.
